East Broad Top Railroad Event

Save the Date: August 15, 2026

The Susquehanna Division is hosting an event at the East Broad Top Railroad, the only surviving three-foot gauge common carrier east of the Rockies. We have reserved seats for two separate train rides under steam. The North Train Ride is a nine mile, one hour round trip scenic train ride. The Southbound Pogue Extension is on newly reopened trackage south towards the community of Pogue. This scenic train ride will be a 45 minute to one hour trip. Also available will be a shop tour including both the roundhouse and the largest intact belt-driven machine shop in the United States.

Recommended Schedule and Additional Options

Recommended Schedule:

 

Arrive:  Between 10:00 AM & 11:00 AM

Shop Tour:   11:45 AM

North Train Ride: 1:30 PM

South Train Ride: 3:00 PM

OR: one or two of these events plus options

 

Possible Alternate Options:

 

1. Drive to Mount Union and visit the Bricktown Model RR Association

 

2. Visit the Rockhill Trolley Museum and enjoy a trolly ride.

Costs:

North Route: $25.00 each

South Route: $25.00 each

Shop Tour: $5.00 with one train ride

Shop Tour only: $18.00
