East Broad Top Railroad Event

Save the Date: August 15, 2026

The Susquehanna Division is hosting a gathering at the East Broad Top Railroad, the only surviving three-foot gauge common carrier east of the Rockies. On August 15 both train excursions are expected to be under steam. The Northbound Colgate Grove Excursion is a nine mile, one hour round trip scenic train ride. One feature this year will be the new wye allowing the locomotive to turn for the return trip. The Southbound Pogue Extension is on newly reopened trackage south towards the community of Pogue. This scenic train ride will be a 45 minute to one hour trip. Also available will be a shop tour including both the roundhouse and the largest intact belt-driven machine shop in the United States. After recently meeting with folks at the railroad, we determined the best solution is for our members to purchase their own tickets for what they want to do during our visit. A number of options for the train rides, type of car, combo tickets, and  schedule are available on their website: https://eastbroadtop.com/
