Local Layouts You Can Visit

Below, listed in alphabetical order (by last name of the model railroad owner), are some of the many fine model railroads found in the Susquehanna Division 11.  If the owner accommodates guests (for either layout visits or operating sessions), that information is included.  A layout owner accepting guests does NOT mean that the guest gets to choose when they may visit – that is the owner’s decision.  It also does NOT mean a guest may come to a scheduled operating session without prior permission from the layout owner.  It simply means that the owner is willing to work out a time IN ADVANCE OF VISIT when the guest may come.  Not all layouts are complete (scenery or benchwork).  Contact the layout owner for more informationClick on pictures for a larger version.

If you are member of the Susquehanna Division 11 and would like to have your model railroad listed on this page, please e-mail us.

Lee Rainey’s Pennsylvania Railroad and East Broad Top Railroad in Mount Union
This 14’x21′ S/Sn3 basement layout features the interchange between the Pennsy Middle Division and the East Broad Top narrow gauge in Mount Union, PA. Heavy PRR steam and first-generation diesels haul mainline freight and passengers through Mount Union (actually, from one staging yard to another), while PRR and EBT yard jobs work the extensive Mount Union trackage. The focus is on operating sessions replicating the scenes and operations of the real Mount Union in 1954. A large PRR equipment roster is nearly complete. Almost all trackage is handlaid and dual gauge. Scenery, centered around custom-designed photographic backdrops of actual prototype scenes and scratch-built structures, is well under way. The layout uses Lenz DCC with Soundtraxx decoders for sound.
