The Division sponsors events which are planned throughout the calendar year, including visits to museums and model railroads. Check out our Calendar for a list of specific upcoming events as well as a tentative schedule for the upcoming year.
The Division also publishes a bimonthly newsletter called Susquehanna Sidetracks with the current issue and archive available here. If you are a member of the division and on the group’s email list you will receive an email when the latest edition of the newsletter is ready.
The Division provides a new mentoring program with an opportunity for members to ask for advice with different aspects of model railroading. Check out the Modeler’s Mentorship page for advice or to volunteer your expertise.
A main thrust for the board and officers in 2024 will be to increase member participation at meetings and other division events. One approach is the suggestion by the superintendent to create geographic subdivisions in order to plan meetings and events in all areas of the Susquehanna Division. He proposed four subdivisions with the counties of each seen in the map below:
- South Central centered on Harrisburg/Lancaster
- North Central centered on State College/Williamsport
- Southeast centered on Allentown
- Northeast centered on Wilkes-Barre/Scranton
